LAMDA exams are awarded by the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and are recognised internationally for helping young people develop confidence, communication skills and expressive performance.
Students will prepare for either Speaking Verse and Prose or Acting examinations, developing skills in clear speech, vocal projection, interpretation of literature and confident performance. LAMDA qualifications are widely valued for helping young people build the confidence needed for presentations, interviews and public speaking later in life.
Sessions are led by James Kirk, a parent at the school and an experienced Personal Development, Mental Fitness and Media Coach.
James’ background is in behavioural change and mental fitness. For the past eight years he has facilitated workshops with MindGym, working with leaders and teams to develop skills in Leadership and personal efficacy. Alongside this, he coaches individuals one-to-one, helping them understand their patterns of thinking and build the mental habits that allow them to perform well under pressure.
His work draws on performance psychology and communication training, and he regularly facilitates workshops and speaks in professional environments where clear thinking and confident communication are essential.
James has also taught drama previously with Stagecoach Performing Arts, and is passionate about helping young people develop confidence, presence and the ability to express themselves clearly — skills that support both academic and personal development.
