MID YEAR APPLICATIONS
All mid-year applications should be made directly to Great Chesterford C of E Primary Academy, using the mid-year application form below. Completed applications should be emailed to admin@greatchesterford.essex.sch.uk Alternatively, a paper copy is available from the school office if required. Mid-year applications (sometimes called in-year applications) are any application for a school place made to any year group, apart from admissions to Reception each September.
Appeals are co-ordinated via Essex County Council and further information can be found at Essex Appeals.
Secondary Schools
The parishes of Great Chesterford, Little Chesterford and Strethall are in the priority admission area for Saffron Walden County High School. We have strong links with this school and last year, all children received their first choice of secondary allocation.
Whilst the vast majority of our pupils transfer to Saffron Walden County High School for their secondary education, a small minority move to other local secondary schools including: The Perse, The Stephen Perse, The Leys, St Mary's Cambridge, Joyce Frankland and Sawston Village College.
We pride ourselves in our extensive transition programme for our Year 6 pupils regardless of the secondary school they will be attending.
